2023: Court Voids Ladi Adebutu’s Candidacy, Orders New Primary 

An Abeokuta Federal High Court, has voided governorship primaries of the Ogun chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Ogun PDP held three parallel primaries with one producing Honourable Ladi Adebutu and another producing Engineer Segun Sowunmi and Prince Adesegun Seriki  as governorship candidates.

Justice Oguntoyinbo, who presided over the court nullified the three primaries and ordered a fresh exercise within a reasonable time to accommodate all interests and groups.

The suit was filed by Prince Adesegun Seriki and three others against Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP.

Prince Seriki and his co-plaintiffs sought the Court’s explicit order to enforce their rights as the rightful and legitimate PDP candidates for the 2023 general elections in Ogun State.
