Breaking! Ogun Reopens Iberekodo Market

Ogun State government today, reopened the Iberekodo market which was shut down last Wednesday to prevent cholera epidemic, due to its dirty, unkept environment and heaps of refuse within the market.

The market was reopened after it was thoroughly cleaned, fumigated and  heaps of refuse evacuated by the Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA).

Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and CEO of OGWAMA, Mr Ola Oresanya, while reopening the market warned the traders against returning the market to its former state which necessitated it’s closure.

Oresanya who was represented by  OGWAMA’s Director of Waste, Mr. Akinbode Sofela, urged the marketers to make cleaniness their watchword as the state government is desirous of them selling in clean and hygienic environment.

To maintain the new and clean environment in the market, the Special Adviser handed over the supervision to the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince  Adebayo Ayorinde who also counseled the traders to avoid the mistake of the past which led to its earlier closure.
