Civil Defence CG Launches Investigation Into Attack VIO Officers’ Attack
Mr. Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, the Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), popularly called Civil Defence, has ordered a speedy and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack on the men of Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) by officers of the Corps.
The VIO officials were attacked at kugbo slope area of Abuja on Tuesday.
Mr Gana’s remark is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Gana’s Special Assistant on Media, Ekunola Gbenga.
The Civil Defence’s CG stated that while investigation on the attack is on-going, has temporarily suspended the officers involved, seized their vehicle, and detained the driver, while also assured that everything humanly possible will be done to ensure that justice prevails in the case.
The Commandant General has also apologized to management and men of VIO and assured them of the Corps maximum cooperation and support in discharging their constitutional duties.
