COVID-19: Group Gives Foods, Cash To Oshodi Residents

A humanitarian group, Always Thank God (ATG), on Saturday, supported thousands of Oshodi Local Government Area, Lagos State, residents with some food items.

The gesture according to the group, is to cushion the effect of the 14 days lockdown of Lagos State, due to the outbreak of deadly COVID-19, popularly called Corona virus.

ATG also gave out cash donations to 250 aged people in the area.

Speaking on the donations, leader of the group, Alhaji Ridwan Oluwagbemiga Usman, said the support was a response to ease the hunger clamouring which might make people defy the lockdown.

Ridwan urged other well-to-do individuals and corporate bodies in the area to join the group in providing more social intervention program to the less privileged families in the area.

He also noted that this period is another way to show love and togetherness to the people who would be hard-hit by the lockdown and thus needed to be assisted with food, money and other palliative measures.

He assured the residents of the area that the donations and supports will continue after the lockdown.

A community leader in the area, Mr. Joseph Olabintan commended the ATG Group for the gesture, especially at this crucial time.

Also, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Badmus, another community leader in the area said: “the donation was timely and would go a long way in assisting the less-privileged in the society”.
