Council Boss Clears Mrs. Sanwo-olu Of Somolu Gen. Hospital’s Concession Conspiracy Allegation

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Honourable Abdul Hammed Salawudeen, a.k.a. Dullar, has reassured Somolu residents of a complete and unfiltered dedication of transparent service to his community, as well reassured his commitment to complete the allegedly abandoned extension project  of Somolu General Hospital.

Salawudeen gave the assurance while  responding to a letter from a human rights group, the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) which demanded from the council Boss to address the community on the present state of the proposed extension project of Somolu General Hospital.

HURMA in a letter captioned: “Reviewing Somolu General Hospital on 2022 World Human Rights Day: Right Group, HURMA Tasks Council Boss on Total Transparency and Accountability,” signed by its Executive Director, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak, had among many others, tasked the council chairman on Total Transparency and Accountability.

The rights group letter read in part: “to some community members, major money released on the hospital extension project has been diverted for the Tinubu 2023 campaign agenda and the rest money embezzled. Some are spreading the rumor that a later disagreement emerged between His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu over a leaked intention to concede the General Hospital after completion to the former Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital who is now the first lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. This concession is more of privatization and this would deny the poor community members access to good and affordable health”.

Copies of this letter, according to the group was sent to all considered interested parties, which includes: the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Baba-jide Sanwo-Olu; Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, first lady of Lagos State; Senator Abiru, Hon. Ademorin Kuye, MHR; Speaker of LSHA, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; Hon. Rotimi Olowo, LSHA; Lagos State Commissioner for Health among others.

However, the council chairman in response statement delivered to the HURMA’s Central office by the council chairman through Honourable Ladi Omifare, the council’s Supervisor for Health, stated with emphasize that “His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State is a man with integrity and has promised to see to the starting and completion of the Somolu General Hospital project and work will certainly commence in the new year, on or before March 2023 with no selfish interest whatsoever attached.

“Moreso, the first lady of Lagos state, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was the immediate past Medical Director of Somolu General Hospital, still remains as passionate as ever about Somolu General hospital and whatsoever concerns Somolu. All rumors spreading around on proposed concession should therefore be completely disregarded.

“The Council Boss in his statement further request that the rights group should let the whole community aware that “the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition has nothing to do with the construction of our state of the heart general hospital.

“Finally, we want the Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) to please be reassured that the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government has ever been transparent and accountable for every kobo and actions taken by him as contained in his electoral promises.”
