Dr. Babalola Chevron’s Chief Medical Director, And His Wife, Adediwura, When The Going Was Good
Court Bars Chevron’s CMD From Evicting Enstraged Wife
A Lagos State High Court has restrained the Chevron Nigeria Limited’s Chief Medical Director (CMD) Dr.Rotimi Babalola, from evicting his wife, Mrs. Adediwura Adebukola Babalola, from their matrimonial home.
Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi specifically barred Dr. Babalola, his servants, privies, or his workmen from entering, trespassing, or otherwise disturbing the possession of the building at 8, Service Crescent, Cooperative Villa, Badore, Ajah, Lagos pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice filed in the divorce petition, filed by his wife against him.
The judge granted the order after hearing arguments canvassed by the petitioner’s counsel, Adeleke Agbola, who pleaded for accelerated grant of the injunction in view of the insistence of the Chevron’s CMD to unlawfully evict his wife from the matrimonial home.
Meanwhile, the court has adjourned till September 20, 2021, for the hearing of motion on notice in the divorce suit filed by Mrs. Babalola.
Mrs. Babalola had earlier filled a divorce petition before Lagos State High Court in Suit No: LD/9231WD/2021, when all attempts by counsel to her husband, Olusola Idowu (SAN) of Olusola Idowu & Co., and her counsel Adeleke Agboola of Cheakley Chambers, to make the husband embrace peaceful settlement failed to yield any result.
