Court Remands Ice Prince Over Alleged Abduction Of Police Officer

An Ajah Magistrate court of Lagos State, has ordered the remand of a Nigeria music act, Panshak Zamani, popularly called Ice Prince, who was arraigned before the court on charges of Assault, obstruction, and abduction of a police officer.

Magistrate T. F. Oyeniyi, ordered the musician’s remand in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS), till when he is able to meet the bail conditions granted him after he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Meanwhile further hearing on the charges has been adjourned till September 7.

The Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police, had arraigned the musician for allegedly assaulting and abducting a police officer on duty.

The command’s Spokesman, Mr. Benjamin Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, earlier on Friday, confirmed the musician’s arrest via his twitter handle.

The PRO said that the musician was arrested at Lekki for allegedly driving his car without a number plate.

Ice Prince was also said to have allegedly abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him into the lagoon.

The musician was arraigned before Magistrate Oyeniyi, on charges of alleged Assault, obstruction, and abduction, which he pleaded not guilty to.

The court however admitted him to bail in the sum of N500, 000, with two responsible sureties in like sum. 

The magistrate also ordered that he Remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ikoyi prison, till perfection of the bail terms.

The musician risks three years jail-term,  if found guilty, this according to section 356 of the Criminal Code of Nigeria.
