COVID-19: Foundation Supports Ebute-Metta Residents With Foods, Cash

COVID-19: Foundation Supports Ebute-Metta Residents With Foods, Cash

In alleviating the suffering of the elderly, the widows and physical challenged, who are adversely affected with the lockdown directives on both Federal and Lagos State governments occasioned by the Corona Virus disease, also called COVID-19, a socioeconomic group, Ile-Nla Connection Foundations, has donated foods and cash to the people in such categories in Ebute-Metta West of Lagos Mainland Local Government Area, Lagos State.

The donations which was done in two phases, witnessed a total number of 120 people receiving the sum of N2,500 each, 135 people got N1,500 each while foods were given to over 400 residents of the community.

The two phases of the donations was done on April 10 and 12, 2020 and it was coordinated by the Committee in charge of the distribution who includes: Seun Williams; Akeem Sunmonu; Akindele Idowu Osho; Muyideen Asanike; Agogo and Tope Okeowo.

The Foundations said the donations were done in the spirit of Easter Celebration.

Speaking on the donations, a member of the Foundations, Ibrahim Eweje, while commending other members of the Foundations for their concerned to the less-privileged in the country, also thanked them for the success of the outreach.

Eweje thanked the foundations members for creating an enduring legacy in the minds of those who benefited from the donations.

Eweje said: “My dear great people of Ile Nla, I congratulate you for the success of your outreach program towards the community during this unprecedented times in the history of the world. 

“You have not only made a mark but created an unforgettable experience which would take a lot to match. 

“For each individual that you were able to give a token or even offer food to, the ripple effect on the overall community cannot be measured with empirical data. 

“You all deserve to be celebrated for your selfless act and support which is a true reflection of Ile Nla (the big house that accommodates all)

“My special thanks to those that came up with the idea, they showed their spirit of love. The donors deserve special thanks and recognition. Although your names were reeled out as your contributions were made, your names have been etched in gold never to be forgotten. 

“Lastly are the organizers and the foot soldiers. These group of individuals are the priceless piece in the whole chain of the Covidnomics. Nothing would have been achieved without you and may almighty God reward you abundantly. 

“These times would surely become history but you are all heroes and heroines that will be celebrated for a long time. I wish you all the very best. Keep well and stay safe”.
