Defamation: British Court Orders Blogger To Pay MFM, Olukoyas £100k

A United Kingdom High Court of Justice, Quuens Bench Division, has ordered a blogger, Ms. Maureen Badejo, to pay a total sum of £100, 000 (BPS), to the Mountain Of Fireand Miracles Ministries International, it’s founder, Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya and his wife, Folashade over defamation.

A copy of the Judgment made available to  newsdishng.com revealed that the court presided over by Justice (Mrs.) Justice Tipples, ordered the Blogger, Badejo, to pay the said sum to the church and it’s founders, on Friday, October 22, 2021, in a suit marked QB-2020-003625.

The judge ordered Badejo to pay the sum of £65, 000 to Dr. Olukoya and his wife be paid £35, 000 PBS, respectively.

Justice Tipples held that monetary damages awarded against the blogger is sequel to Olukoyas’ application under paragraph 5 of the order of Master Thornett dated 13 April 2021, which had determined the issues of damages and orders under sections 12 and 13 of the Defamation Act 2013, dated 3 August 2021.

The court also ordered Badejo to publish a summary of the judgment across nine of her social media channels for a period of 10 consecutive days as a corrective measure and as a means of ensuring that her misguided and misinformed audience get to know about the Court’s decision.

Maureen Badejo has been taken to court over her defamatory brodacast against the person, ministry and family of the founder of the MFM.

Aspects of those broadcasts which pertained to The General Overseer and his wife Shade Olukoya were filed as a suit in the High Court of London in the Strand, Queen’s Bench Division.
