Electoral Reforms: Agbakoba Tasks Tinubu On Justice Uwais’ Recommendations

The former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to implement the reports of Justice Muhammed Lawal Uwais’ Committee Electoral Reforms.

Agbakoba who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) made the call in commemoration of the 87th birthday of  Justice Uwais, a former Chief Justice of Nigeria saying that the best gift President Tinubu can bestow the former Chief Justice of the country, is to implement his electoral Reforms recommendations.

Late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, had in 2007, constituted Chief Justice Muhammadu Uwais’ Electoral Reform Committee, which comprised of  a highly intellectual and erudite class including the best brains from the academic, Civil Society Organizations, professional groups and the public service.

Dr. Agbakoba (SAN) in his letter to President Tinubu says: “Uwais At 87: President Tinubu Should Implement The Uwais Committee Electoral Reforms.

“The longest serving Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon Justice M Uwais has been blessed by God to reach the milestone Age of 87!! President Tinubu’s special gift to our CJN is to implement the far reaching electoral reforms of the Uwais Committee. I was honoured to serve in the Uwais Committee. Mr president! please implement the Uwais recommendations.”
