FHA Accused Of Demolishing Churches In Festac

Some churches in Festac area of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos State, were today’s morning pull down by the bulldozers of Federal Housing Authority (FHA) backed the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, popularly called Task Force.
 Some of the members of the affected churches who spoke with newsdishng.com, accused FHA officials and the Task Force of demolishing the churches without due process and proper notice.

It was learnt that the officials of the agencies stormed the area and started demolishing the churches while conducting Sunday services.

Some of the demolished churches includes; Gate of righteousness Evangelical Church International; Christ Solution Revival Ministry; Light chapel Miracle Ministry; Christ Life Embassy; Victorious Lord Revival Ministry; Jesus Union kingdom and many others.

A source from Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) who spoke to this medium on phone while the demolition was going on said: “we were surprised when we saw officials of FHA demolishing some church this morning. These churches were given seven days notice to quit sometimes last week. There was no any prior notice to before this ‘seven day quit’ notice. The seven days has not expired before they came this morning and started demolishing these churches.

“Even, the officials of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in this area have applied for allocation which they are yet to get. And we will be having a meeting at Alausa this week, all these we were still waiting for before they FHA and Task Force officials came this morning and started demolishing the churches”.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the FHA officials were unsuccessful and message sent to its email address at  info@fha.gov.ng were not returned as the time of filing this report.
