
Gov. Abiodun & Sanwo-olu
Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor and his Lagos State counterpart, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have been shortlisted for Outstanding Performance Awards in infrastructure development in their respective states.
The Award by the Property and Environment Writers Association of Nigeria (PEWAN) is in recognition of the giant strides of the two governors in the areas of infrastructure and housing provisions since coming into office.
“As journalists saddled with the responsibility of reporting the housing/ construction sector, it has become imperative for us to recognize the progress made by the governors in order to spur them to do more,” Chairman of the association, Okwy Iroegbu-Chikezie, explained.
“It’s for this reason and more that PEWAN has deemed it fit to recognize the Outstanding Performance of these Governors through the Awards,” she added.
Some of the achievements of Governor Abiodun are; the construction and dualisation of Ijebu-Ode-Epe Road; reconstruction of Shagamu-Abeokuta Expressway, Ilaro-Owode-Yewa road and Lusada-Atan-Agbara road, Arepo Road and Construction of Agro Cargo Airport
Other projects include; schools’ rehabilitation, Light Up Ogun project, rehabilitation of over 100 primary healthcare centres (PHCs) and mass housing construction, among others.
The topics for the Annual Lecture/Awards which will hold on Wednesday, November 29th at LCCI Centre, Ikeja CBD, Lagos by 10am, are: “Technology as the New Normal in Modern Infrastructure Delivery: How Advocacy can Drive Real Estate in Nigeria.”
Also, Dangote Group will also discuss the use of Rigid Pavement.
Other stakeholders billed for the Awards are the pioneer President of the Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG), Builder Kunle Awobodu, Executive Director, Housing Development Network Advocacy (HDAN) and CEO Fesadeb Communications, Barrister Festus Adebayo; Director, Highways Construction and Rehabilitation,
Federal Ministry of Works; Engineer Adedamola Kuti, Managing Director, Legrande Properties Development Company Limited, Babajide Durojaiye, Chief Executive Officer, PWAN ELITE Emeka Justin Anyiam; and Convvy Estates Limited.
