Islamic Group Honours Iru LCDA Boss, Princess Adu, With ‘Asiwaju Adinni‘
Princess Rasheedat Abiodun Adu, the Executive Chairman of Iru/Victoria Island Local Council Development Area, Lagos, has been turbaned by an Islamic association, Jejewiyyat Muslim Association of Nigeria, as it’s Asiwaju Adinni title.
Statement issued by the council’s Head of Public Affairs Unit, Mr. Olaniyi Idowu, stated that the group bestowed the title on the council boss and others during it’s 35 and 36 years anniversary held on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
The conferrment, according to the Islamic association led by Alhaji Bolaji Hassan Bada, “did not just come to the receipients as a symbol of humility and a devouted Alumma but as a result of their cummulated philanthropy, humanity, generosity and empathy and what have you”.

The Guest Lecturer, Fadeelat Ustadh (Dr.) Abdul Qudus Olayinka Anuni, an Associate Professor of Islamic Language, at Lagos State Univerisity (LASU) extensively and comprehensively spoke on the Theme: Essence of Award”, by giving various definitions and types.
The guest lecturer also classified awards into decorations, medals, money gifts, compensation for Excellence, while also explored criteria such as bravery, truthfulness, loyalty and many more by quoting Qur’an verses.
At the occasion, which was witnessed by many clerics, spiritual mothers and fathers gave revealing and living testimonies about the recipient of Asiwaju Adinni’s qualifications and desirability.
As mark of honour to the new “Asiwaju Adinni”, family, friends, top notch politicians such as Hon. Ramota Akinola-Hassan, Chairman of Oriade LCDA, graciously graced the event and generously supported the Asiwaju during turbaning and donation towards construction of Ultra Modern Central Mosque of Jejewiyyat at Agbede Olusugbo, Ikorodu.
Emminent public officeholders present at the event were Leader of the House, Honourable Aminat Oluwakemi Alabi, who led other Councilors, while the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) Honourable Taofeek Afilabi led the Executive Members and staff of the council led by the council manager, Alhaji Olarenwaju Abdulfatai
