As parts of efforts in helping the society, Rotary Club of Lagos Mainland, has donated books, school bags and other educational materials to Ago-Ijaiye Methodist Primary School, Ebute Meta, Lagos.
The club under the leadership of Rotarian Muyideen Asanike, equally embarked on the tree planting exercise, which was flag-off was at Ijero Baptist Primary School, Abule-Nla Road, Ebute Metta (West), on July 14.
The tree planting exercise with the theme “In Harmony with Nature”, according to Rotarian Asanike, was in conjunction with the Lagos Mainland Local Government Area of the state and in observation of the international Tree Planting Day celebrated recently.
The tree planting exercise was done at St. Peters Primary School Iponri Grammar School and Ashafa Tijani High School to plant more trees, where Rotarian Asanike educated the pupils of the school on the relevance of tree planting to climate change.
He also charged all Nigerians to cultivate attitude of tree planting, which he said will help our environment and nation in many ways.
Prior to the donation and tree planting exercise, Rotarian Omotunde Lawson, the Rotary Club’s District Governor (DG) accompanied by members of the club, earlier pay a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman, Honourable Omolola Rashidat Essien, whom the DG described as her school aunty, as the both attended the same secondary school back in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Apart from the donation to the school and tree planting exercise, Rotarian Asanike led other members of the club to fumigate, donate some valuable materials to the Rehabilitation Home at Okobaba, Ebute-metta East.
