Lawyer, Sister’s Trial Over Unlawful Sale Of Property Fixed For Mar. 17
Justice Sule Hassan of a Lagos Federal High Court, has further adjourned the trial of a lawyer, Mr. Olumide Gbadamoshi and his sister, Kehinde Gbadamoshi, who are both facing charges of conspiracy, forgery and unlawful disposal of a-N40 million property, till Mar 17 and 18, 2021. 
Justice Hassan, adjourned the matter till new dates after listening to arguments from both parties on the admissibility of so some documents tendered by the prosecutor, Mr. Nosa Uhumwangho.
The documents argued upon were the statement made by one of the prosecution witness, Mr. Ayoshina Adekunle; the receipt of plot of land allegedly sold by the defendants and and the statement of the second prosecution witness in the matter.
Upon conclusion of arguments by the prosecutor, Mr. Uhumwangho and counsel to the defendants, Mr. Gbenga Ojo and Mr. Wale Fadipe, the presiding nudge, Justice Hassan fixed March 17 and 18, for ruling and continuation of defendants’ trial.
The two Gbadamoshis were dragged before the court by the men of Nigeria Police in a charge marked FHC/L/390c/2017, for allegedly conniving to steal, forged and uttered the title documents of a property belonging to their late Sister, Mrs Sidikatu Odunsanya valued at N40m.
They were alleged to have used the forged documents to sell the deceased’s property to one Akindele Ojo for N24.5m without the consent of the deceased children.
The defendants were first arraigned before the court sometimes in 2017, on a four-count charge of felony to wit, stealing, forgery and uttering documents.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, Mr. Uhumwangho were contrary to sections 465 and 468 and punishable under sections 516, 390 (8)(b), 467 (2)(e)(h)(m)(4)(p)(q) and 467 of the Criminal Code Cap, C38,Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 as amended.
The defendants had pleaded not guilty to the charges and equally admitted to bail in various terms and conditions.
One of the counts of the charge against the defendants read: “that you, Kehinde Gbadamosi ‘f’, Olamide Gbadamosi ’m’ and others at large, sometimes in the month of November, 2016, at No. 52, Shipeolu Street, Palmgroove, Lagos, within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: Stealing, forgery and uttering and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap. C38, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 (as amended).
Another count reads: “that you, Kehinde Gbadamosi ’f’, Olamide Gbadamosi ‘m’ and others at large, sometimes in the month of November, 2016 at No. 52, Shipeolu Street, Palmgroove, Lagos, within the Jurisdiction of the Federal High Court, did knowingly and fraudulently forged a document to wit: uttering a Power of Attorney in respect of a property located no. 6, Oketoyinbo Street, lkosi-Ketu, Lagos, with Intent that It may anyway be used or acted upon as genuine to the prejudice Of one O|uwakemi Ganiat Roberts and the general public and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 468 and punishable under section 468 of the Criminal Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2014 (as amended)”.
