Ondo community Hails FG, REA, For Providing Residents With Solar Home System

Akotogbo Development Association (ADA), in Irele Local Government Area, Ondo State, has expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), for providing 90 residents of the Akotogbo community with clean and safe Solar Home Systems (SHS).

The community association in a letter of  appreciation signed by its Chairman, Board of Trustees, Barrister Mike Akinfolarin, to the REA’s Managing Director through the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Chief Niyi Netufo, said those who had been unconnected to the national grid since the town’s inception, have now benefited from the Federal Government’s effort aimed at increasing access to electricity through renewable power sources.

The association stated that the 90 residents who have been depending on individual power generating sets, lanterns, and candles, now have their homes illuminated with reliable electric power supply.

Akinfolarin also stated that the residents of the community are happy as the town is gradually being transformed with clean energy.

The association commended the All Progressive Congress (APC) led-Federal Government’s commitment through its agency, to meet its developmental goals by ending electricity poverty in the country, especially in rural communities.

The group pleaded with the agency to extend the gesture to all residents, schools, businesses, and public institutions in the community through the provision of a mini-grid solar plant.

Other personalities that have also expressed appreciation to REA and the Federal Government, include the Regent Of Akotogbo Kingdom, High Chief Iwalewa Emoruwa, the entire Council Of Chiefs, Vice President Of Akotogbo Development Association (ADA), Prince Adewole Turoti, Secretary BoT, ADA Mr. Lanre Iwajero and ADA’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Igbekele John amongst others.
