Rights Group Lauds Assemblyman, Olowo, Tasks Others On True Representation

The  Human Rights Monitoring Agenda (HURMA) in the recent annual review of the 2020 reports on genuine representation by the political office holders across its units and formations in the country, has commended a member of Lagos House of Assembly, Honourable Rotimi Olowo, for genuinely reprsenting his constituents, while advised others both at the State and National Assemblies, to learn from his virtues and live as true people’s representatives. 

HURMA members commended Honourable Olowo for being good representative of his constituents, at the group’s monthly review of reports from different Local Government areas, where a final collation is been done yearly at the leadership level with which the true state of the nation is accessed. 

After review of general issues around security among others, which revealed a general poor performance on the side of the government, a genuine representation with strong political will was enjoined where majority are found wanting. The group however, stated that some exceptions were identified from the reports gathered from the masses in the area of true delivery of democratic dividends, and this include the personality of Hon. Olowo Rotimi of Lagos State House of Assembly among others.

Comrade Buna said majority of today’s representatives are the reasons why corruption strive among the youths, who sees every office as opportunity to exploit, using any means possible.

The Comrade Buna led-group however stated that the gathering that include some members of the public, the leadership made bold to arrive that  despite the poor pro-people  performance from government as reflected by the annual report, a member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Somolu Constituency, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, among few others nationwide are outstanding in performance. “Honourable Olowo was encouraged to keep up with his people’s centered programs and activities and others encouraged to emulate his style of representation”.

In applauding Honourable Olowu for his good representation, HURMA’s Executive Director, Comrade Buna Olaitan Isiak said: “report of his programs and general activities include; economic empowerment, which he practiced all year through with open and general accessibility to the common man on the street. 

“It also includes but not limited to engaging some Police Divisional Headquarters, for oppressing the poor and harmless members of the community”.


 HURMA conclusively, promised to maintain the stance of defending the oppressed masses of the Nigerian society. Adding that it would not only always challenge those in government towards equity and justice, but ensuring that people’s wealth are retrieved from all in custody of it.
