“We Empower Youths For The Future”, Etiosa LG Vice Chairman
The dictum that says: the youths are the leaders of tomorrow has beginning to bear fruits at the Etiosa local government area, as the council Chairman is focussed on making the youths his focal point in its developmental agenda.
The council’s Vice Chairman, Honourable Omoba Adeola Adetoro, has noted that empowering the youths so that they can have something to focus on in the future is not negotiable.
Honourable Adetoro, who is the current Chairman, All Vice Chairmen, Lagos State Chapter, stated this during an award Night and book launch organised by the Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) in Abuja recently.
“We want to empower our youths so that they can have something to depend on. With what happened during the #EndSARS protest, we are going to prepare our youths in making sure they become our future leaders.
“To make this a reality, my chairman has built a vocational centre for different skill acquisitions. We also have an e-library with different apps for learning,” she said.
On insecurity in Nigeria, she said: “I am extremely saddened by what is actually going on in Nigeria right now- insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and killings of all sorts. I hope that our bosses are working tirelessly to find a lasting solution. We need to come together as one Nigeria to figure out how to put a stop to all these negative issues going on”.
However, as the Chairman, she called on her colleagues especially the Vice Chairmen to know that there’s no 99 percent loyalty, it has to be 101 percent.
“You have to work with your bosses, the principal officers which is the chairmen. If you have any issue with them, meet them and discuss it and clear any misconceptions. You must work hand in hand with your boss to achieve success,” she reiterated.
