Youth Group Condoles Osinowo’s Family, Tips Ikuforiji As Replacement At Senate
A youth group in Lagos East Senatorial District, Lagos East Youth Emancipation (LEYE) has commiserated with the family and the people of Lagos East Senatorial District of Late Adebayo Osinowo, who died on Tuesday.
The youth group in a statement described Late Senator’s death as a big blow to the his political associates and friend and the people of Lagos State in general
A statement jointly signed by the trio of Right Honourable (Comrade) Fagbodun Oluwadamilare O, Comrade (Barrister) Ademola Adefolaju and Barrister Kolawole Salami, the group’s Convener, Secretary General and Public Relation Officer, respectively, after a meeting held today, endorsed and nominated the Former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Adeyemi Sabit Ikuforiji, as the best replacement for Late Osinowo, at the Red chamber of the National Assembly.
The youth group described Ikuforiji as the most experienced legislator to fill the vacuum created by Late Senator Osinowo’s demise.
Parts of the group’s statement after the meeting read: “our condolence message to the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District and particularly the entire Osinowo`s family on the demise of our Leader, Father and Motivator, Late Senator Bayo Osinowo (Pepperito).
“Until his death, Senator Osinowo was a respected politician, a versatile grassroot mobilizer and a Man with a large heart. Late Senator Bayo Osinowo was former majority leader in the Lagos State House of Assembly before becoming the Senator Representing our dear Lagos East senatorial district.
“His sudden death has therefore created a vacuum in the upper chamber of the National Assembly. Though the process for his replacement has not started but as a formidable and organized platform working assiduously for the betterment and advancement of our senatorial district, the leadership of our great movement LEYE”.
During the meeting, the group’s Convener, who also doubles as a former Students Union Speaker of a tertiary institution within Lagos East Senatorial District, Rt Hon Comrade Fagbodun Oluwadamilare O, said the organization identify with the immediate past Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly in person of Rt. Hon Adeyemi Sabit Ikuforiji based on his experience.
In the words of Barr. Adefolaju, he said “Rt. Hon Adeyemi Sabit Ikuforiji is a versatile grassroot mobilizer and philanthropist.
Barr. Salami, the group’s Public Relation Officer, said Rt. Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji`s experience coupled with our observations of the tremendous achievements recorded in the Lagos State House of Assembly while he was Speaker of the most formidable House of Assembly in Nigeria for 10 years is worthy and applaudable.
Another member of the group Comrade Ayodele Fredrick Rotimi said “Rt. Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji is the most gallant man to occupy this esteemed position and the All Progressive Congress would be taking the best decision in the party and district interest by fielding him as the candidate of the party anytime INEC call for the bye election in the Senatorial district”.
